The Foundry District Engagement Session

I'm so excited to share this super cute engagement session with you.

I had the pleasure of photographing Arika and Matt in June. We chose this beautiful (and under-appreciated) location in our beautiful city of Fort Worth, TX. The area is called The Foundry District and it's located near downtown.

The area features several retail stores and a cute coffee shop. The best part of this area is the incredible artwork on the walls of the nearby buildings and in Inspiration Alley.

Also, as you all know from my previous blog posts, I've been incorporating film in my recent photo sessions. For this shoot, I shot a few roles of Kodak Portra 800 and Fuji 400H. (I know this is a super geeky thing, but it makes me happy!)

How did you two first meet?

Arika: "Matt and I met 5 years ago at an abandoned apartment party. We said maybe a maximum of 20 words to each other. We didn’t speak again for almost two years. We crossed paths again in 2016, started talking for a little while and decided to hang out. It was effortless and I guess you could say we just knew. Matt asked me to be his girlfriend, and it took off from there. We had our son Asher in 2018 and are so excited for him to be a part of this special day."

When did you get engaged and how?

Arika: "We got engaged Nov 2nd, 2019. He surprised me at my 21st birthday dinner. Of course I made 10x more difficult than it needed to be but, it worked out haha!"
