How To Choose a Location For Your Engagement Shoot

3 tips to ensure your location is perfect, memorable, unique to you

When it comes to your engagement session there is a lot to think about ­—times, dates outfits, location, how to accessorize and the list goes on. But, today I want to talk with you about a key item on the list, choosing your location.

Here are three tips to help you choose the perfect spot for your session.

1. Don’t think of it as another thing on your list, instead make it fun! 

The location you choose will be the background for your precious memories, so you have to choose carefully. You can make it fun by seeing it as opportunity to be creative and allowing your personality to shine! Get quirky, romantic, fancy or fun. The possibilities are endless!

2. Think outside the box! 

Maybe you have access to a unique location no-one else does (like family land, a lake getaway or an exclusive estate). Take advantage of it! 

Do you know of a hidden field you have always loved? Let’s go there!

Maybe your choice will be more sentimental. Is there somewhere that means the world to your relationship? Your first date spot or the place where your proposal happened? Did you always go to the same coffee spot together while dating? 

Thinking of places that hold a special place in your heart can help you fall even more in love with your photos. 

3. As you’re thinking about locations, don’t be afraid to ask me to travel!
