Elizabeth “Lizzy” Couch grew up in Oklahoma City, where she attended high school and college. In 2011, she earned a B.A in Mass Communications with cum laude honors from Oklahoma City University (OCU). While at OCU, she served as a photographer and an editor for Student Publications.
While still in college, she accepted a fulltime producer position at Telemundo Oklahoma, where she produced the only Spanish-language newscast in the state.
Following graduation, Couch joined KOCO-TV in Oklahoma City as a news producer where she was involved in coverage of multiple severe weather events (including the deadly May 20, 2013 tornado) and two Children’s Miracle Network telethons.
In 2014, Couch joined KXTX-TV in Dallas as a news producer, earning four Lone Star Emmys for topics including breaking news coverage of the July 7, 2016 downtown Dallas police ambush.
After leaving KXTX-TV, Couch joined Parkland Health & Hospital System as a Media Specialist. In 2019, she joined The University of Texas at Arlington as an Assistant Director of Media Relations.
In her free time, Couch enjoys spending time with her husband and their three dogs: Archer, Darby and Leia.
